Negri Contractors was founded in 1928 as Mardegan and Negri, and continues today as one of Melbourne’s most experienced and capable civil construction companies. The company is fully owned and operated by Peter and Ronald Negri, who combined have over a hundred years of experience in the construction industry.
Whilst working for many clients over the years, Negri Contractors is probably best known for its work at Melbourne Airport. With over 50 years of association, Negri Contractors has constructed hundreds of thousands of cubic metres of heavy duty concrete pavements, asphalt pavements, car parks, roads as well as upgrading substantial parts of the airports infrastructure and services.
Negri Contractors other main client is Vic Roads. The major projects undertaken in the past include three sections of Melbourne’s ring road (Greensborough bypass to Plenty Rd, Plenty Rd to Dalton Rd and the Edgar’s Rd interchange), Monash Freeway widening between Warrigal Rd and Jackson’s Rd, Pascoe Vale Rd Duplication between Broadmeadow’s shopping centre and Somerton Rd and the Plenty Rd Duplication and Tram extension in Mill Park.
